Every swing set on this shelf is a whole outdoor play structure rather than a frame you finish later. The small end of the line is an A-frame with two swings and a wave slide. The large end is a tower with a wood roof, two slides, a climbing wall, monkey bars, a glider and a picnic table underneath. In between sit the models most families land on: one tower, one slide, two swings and something to climb.
Read three numbers before anything else. The footprint tells you whether the set fits your backyard once you add six feet of clear ground on every side. The deck height tells you which slide the set carries and what a fall from the platform would be. The weight limit, stated in lbs on each page, tells you how many kids can be active on it at once — on our seats the limit is per seat, and the beam is rated for the seats it carries.
Assembly is the part people ask about most. Two adults, a drill and a socket set will have a mid-size wooden set standing in six to ten hours spread over a weekend. The lumber is cut and drilled, so the work is bolting and lifting, not measuring and sawing. Sort the hardware bags before you start and the whole job gets an hour shorter.
Every set here is covered by our warranty on the wood and the structural hardware, and every set is designed so that the parts that wear — seats, chains, canopies, climbing holds — can be replaced from the rest of this site rather than thrown away with the frame. If you want support or more information about a particular model, the specifications on each page are the same ones our customer notes are written from.
Climbing is as much of the day as swinging. Most of our play sets carry a moulded rock wall with hand holds bolted through the lumber, a ladder or a set of rungs on the opposite side, and a deck that is high enough to feel like somewhere. Kids who have outgrown the belt seats stay active on a set for years longer when there is a wall to scramble and a tower to hold.
Every play set page lists the same specifications in the same order: footprint, deck height, slide length, swing count, the weight limit per seat in lbs and the recommended age range. If a figure is missing from a page it is because we could not confirm it, not because it is unflattering. Where you need more detail than the page carries, write to us with the model name and we will send what we have.
A compact A-frame with two swings and a wave slide fits a 20 by 20 foot safety zone and still gives kids a real ride.
SwingsTowers with monkey bars, a climbing wall and two slides want about 30 by 30 feet of clear, level ground.
Swing SetsSwap tired seats, add a glider or bolt on a tube slide — the hardware is sized to the beams you already own.
Hardware & CanopiesTake the assembled footprint on the page and add six feet on every side, and more in front of a slide exit. A compact set wants roughly twenty by twenty feet; a large tower wants closer to thirty by thirty.
Six to ten hours for a mid-size wooden set with two people, spread comfortably over a weekend. Large towers with two slides and a wood roof run longer. The lumber is pre-cut and pre-drilled.
Each swing seat carries its own stated limit in lbs, printed in the specifications on its page. Our standard belt seats and extreme-duty seats differ, and toddler bucket seats are rated lower.
Our complete play sets are built from kiln-dried, pressure-treated southern yellow pine or from cedar, depending on the model. Both hold up outdoors for many years; cedar weathers to a soft grey and pine takes a stain well. The wood species for each set is on its page.
Yes. Anchors keep the frame from walking or tipping when several children swing hard in the same direction. Our anchor kits bolt to the legs and drive into the ground, and we recommend them on every set, including the heavy ones.
